Automated emails to new members

The Co-Co, a coworking space based in New Jersey, used a platform called Optix to manage memberships.

Automated email sequence showing the trigger for onboarding, the first email, and then the intelligent split, which sent a different email depending on whether a member had signed up to their onboarding session.

Unfortunately, there was no easy way for new Optix members to be added to their email marketing - the community team not only had to manually add them to their mailing list, but also send them their onboarding email.

I used a tool called Zapier to connect their two platforms together, so that whenever a new member was added to Optix, they were automatically added to their email list in Klaviyo, and tagged as a “Member”.

This then triggered an automated email series I set up in Klaviyo, sending the new member a series of two templated onboarding emails.

BONUS: as a further “level-up” for this system, I connected their onboarding scheduling platform (Acuity) to Klaviyo. With this setup, the onboarding series could understand when an onboarding session had been booked, knowing to send that member the next email in the series rather than a reminder to book.
